He was born in Rome while his father was enjoying the scholarship awarded by the Diputació de València. The artistic and creative atmosphere of his family home encouraged his early participation in national exhibitions and even in the international exhibition in Paris in 1900, where he was awarded a second medal. During the first three decades of the twentieth century he developed a style of painting that moved from luminous regionalism towards a symbolism of intense traditionalist roots, which allowed him to exhibit in Brighton, London, New York, Havana, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Buenos Aires, Amsterdam… One of his last works, Nosotros (us), together with numerous still lifes, reveals a compelling artistic evolution that his early death did not allow him to fully develop.
