Artur, a great friend of the Pinazo family, curated an exhibition in 2013 in which, from his own artistic perspective, he brought the drawings of the sculptor Andreu Alfaro and the painter Ignacio Pinazo Camarlench into dialogue. The exhibition, organised by Godella Town Council, was held at the Centre d’Art Villa Eugenia.

On Friday, June 19, at 7:30 p.m., the presentation of the Casa Museo Pinazo, Fundación de la Comunitat Valenciana, was held in the Carmen Alborch auditorium of the IVAM, Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno (c. Guillem de Castro, 118, Valencia).

On May 22, Ms. Blanca de la Torre García, director of the IVAM, accompanied by deputy director Ms. Kristine Guzmán Saratan and manager Ms. María Ayuso González-Montagut, visited the Casa Museo Pinazo. During the visit, they toured the museum’s collections, both artistic and documentary, of the three Pinazo artists and discussed possibilities for collaboration between the two institutions, given that the IVAM is the leading institution for the study and understanding of the painter Ignacio Pinazo Camarlench.

Mr. VMG donated three drawings by the painter Ignacio Pinazo Camarlench to the Casa Museo Pinazo, Fundación de la Comunitat Valenciana. The drawings are titled Dos personajes femeninos (signed 1913), Cuatro personajes masculinos (signed 1915), and Personaje femenino y caballeria enjaezada (signed either 1913 or 1915). All three are notable for their use of line as a means of plastic synthesis, as well as the painter’s intention to depict scenes of everyday life without the conventional resources of genre painting. The Casa Museo Pinazo expresses its gratitude to Mr. VMG for his generosity.

On March 3, 2026, the exhibition was inaugurated in the Pinazo hall of the IVAM El aura de una saga moderna: Ignacio, José y Marisa Pinazo,which will remain open until February 7, 2027.

With over 140 works, including paintings, drawings, publications, and photographs, curator Javier Pérez Rojas has organized the exhibition into five sections: Family Portraits, Lived Spaces, José Pinazo and Regionalist Painting, Still Life: A Territory of Experimentation, and Marisa Pinazo and the Modernism of the 1930s. The exhibition offers a journey through the works of Ignacio Pinazo Camarlench (1849–1916), José Pinazo Martínez (1879–1933), and Marisa Pinazo Mitjans (1912–1990).

Presenting the art of three generations sequentially requires interpreting the existing relationships, the gradual evolution of each artist, and certain continuities that are naturally more pronounced between father and son than between grandfather and granddaughter. Although the grandfather’s powerful personality is revered, each artist’s work follows its own path, and the creations of the three artists speak of a transcendence of established models and stylistic evolutions that, taken together, allow for a compelling journey from Naturalism and Modernism to Art Deco.

The Pinazo House Museum has loaned 34 works and five documents for the exhibition.
